Mr. Zhao's expertise covers the areas of electronic and electrical engineering, telecommunications and semiconductor, including optoelectronics, optical communications & networks, wireless communications & networks, semiconductor devices and manufacturing processes, micro-electronic-machine techniques, data encoding and decoding techniques, display devices such as LCD, PDP and EL, as well as household appliances.

After joining CSPTAL in March, 2003,he addresses in procurement of patent rights, patent search, opinions on patentability, re-examination and invalidation, infringement analysis, and other matters related to intellectual property right. Heretofore, Mr. Zhao has handled hundreds of patent applications and consultancies most of which come from world-famous companies. He is also familiar with the prosecution procedures and requirements before EPO and USPTO and has dealt with dozens of applications submitted thereto. Mr. Zhao was qualified as a patent attorney before State Intellectual Property Office in 2006. In2016, awarded as “Excellent Patent Agent of Beijing of Year 2016” by Beijing Patent Attorneys Association In 2020, ranked in the list of “The World’s Leading Patent Professionals 2020 (IAM Patent 1000)” and the list of “IAM Global Leaders”

Mr. Zhao obtained a B. E. from the Electronic Engineering Department of Tsinghua University with a major in Physical electronics and Optoelectronics. He obtained an M. S. from Information Optoelectronics Research Center of the Electronic Engineering Department of Tsinghua University.

Mr. Zhao is proficient in Chinese and English.
